Suspect acquitted by Contra Costa jury of soliciting murders, convicted of fraud
MARTINEZ — After announcing it had hung on a murder conspiracy charge and two related counts, a Contra Costa jury acquitted a man of seven counts of murder solicitation.
Then, jurors convicted Charles Waldo of multiple counts of fraud and theft, as well as brandishing a weapon, embezzlement and vandalism. He faces a maximum penalty of approximately 18 years in prison, according to prosecutors.
